The PracticeTheater. Be an Artist project is holding a creative workshop on awakening creativity using Mikhail Chekhov’s technique with Joerg Andrees at the Moulin Jaune from 22 to 28 March 2026.

Michael Chekhov (the famous writer’s nephew) was a great actor and teacher of the early 20th century who created a technique now used by best world’s actors.
In Michael Chekhov’s system, work with imagination plays the key role. Chekhov said: “Imagination is everything. Imagination is the main source of creativity. Without it, neither art nor a living human life is possible.”
What?
Six full days of a creative laboratory for twenty lucky participants:
- psychophysical training
- working with images through body and movement, improvisation, creative projects
- contemplation of nature and gardens
- delicious food and beauty
Where?
In a place that was born from one person’s imagination and became a magical reality for many.
When?
During the Spring Equinox.
While life awakens in nature, we will awaken its creative source within ourselves.
(This is intentionally designed – the Moulin Jaune lives according to the Wheel of the Year, and we will experience this time together with it.)

A person of light – Joerg Andrees: actor, director, teacher, founder of the Michael Chekhov Academy in Berlin – and, like Chekhov, a follower of Rudolf Steiner.

A 50% deposit is required for registration. The remaining balance is paid on site.
The deposit can be refunded if you cancel before February 28.

Accommodation (paid separately)
Several accommodation options are available within walking distance. Prices vary between 250 – 800 euro per room/appartment for 6 nights. You are also welcome to arrange your own housing. If you have a car, there are many excellent hotels within a 10-minute drive of the Moulin Jaune – we will be happy to help you find the best option.
