The First Writers’ Retreat at Moulin Jaune

The First Writers’ Retreat at Moulin Jaune

Masha Mozolevskaya and Art of Picnic are running the first writing retreat at Moulin Jaune for Russian speakers. Here’s what they have to say about it:

The First Writers’ Retreat at Moulin Jaune. A unique space that feels as if it’s placing a pen in your hand and drawing it to paper—Create! Magical gardens, hidden libraries, art installations, and the whimsical inhabitants of the Mill—everything here pushes your imagination to its limit. And, of course, our host, Slava Polunin, with his stories, his philosophy, and the legendary “Wisdom of a Fool.”

We will spend four incredible days at the Mill and one day in Paris. We’ll be writing by the river and on the river (how about drifting on the Smoke-House boat?), wandering between the Mill’s libraries and salons, stepping into Slava’s private home for deep conversations about the eternal, and banishing our inner critics in the Mill’s banya. We’ll savor incredible “fiery” cuisine… and, naturally, we will dream. At the Mill, dreaming comes easier than anywhere else. And here, dreams actually come true.

Our plans for Paris are just as magical—it’s going to be an incredibly soul-stirring day!

Marusha Mozolevskaya will be our guide for creativity and writing from the heart. She is a writer, founder of the Girls Who Write platform, the Svoimi Slovami writing school, and two therapeutic writing festivals in Barcelona and New York.

Our guides into this fairytale world will be Dasha and Dima from the Art of Picnic project. They will light the fires for our special dinners, teach us to read the secret signs of the Mill (which they know like their own home), and show us how to truly play the fool — because at Moulin Jaune, you simply can’t do without it.

We will publish the retreat program soon, but for now, save the dates:

March 1-6, Moulin Jaune, France
